we can't make it race based, but we could pick something that lends itself to a specific race. I am open to idea, but don't want to get race specific.

How about combining glamor with special effects. That's something I've always loved.

An idea here on the voting...I think to make voting the fairest, if someone is credited on a photo, they should not get to vote at all.
As an example, lets say a particular photo has 3 credits...model, photographer and makeup artist. If all three of those folks voted a 1 or a 2 on every other photo in the contest, they would be pretty sure of winning, judging from the relatively small number of entries for the contests that I've seen since I joined here.

I have three ideas: Out of the camera as is -- no cropping, no post production. Only Lightroom adjustments, and finally photoshop galore.

How about a contest where the focus is eyes, or hair? Another interesting one (imnsho) is shoulders and neck.

Would you consider having a solarization contest? Perhaps other contests based on technique rather than subject?

In truth, I don't really care for the effect so unless a lot of folks feel it would benefit their port to shoot and display them, I would probably not offer one.

Maybe it's too typical or expected, but have a contest for whatever up coming holiday or season? i.e. Halloween is next month, or is Fall just starting.

No worries. I just wish I had mentioned something earlier, because I would've entered the guitar body painting in the music contest, but it didn't occur to me until I saw it was time to vote. ;) Next time! :)

To be honest, I'm not sure. I don't think I'd even participate in it because I'm just a body painter. I was looking through a photographer-friend's portfolio, and he's got several photos where the models look like they're falling. It's wicked-cool!

Different genres for body painting might be historical, comics, animals, Halloween (or other holidays), aliens, mixing of fabric and paint, camoflauge, black and white... There are LOTS of categories! :)

I like the animal one, that might be very interesting. Halloween will be a good one as well, but that will come in a few months ;-)
