Ive worked with ringlights. actually the same one. I find it very unique. Ill look for some images I have posted and share them with you. I tend to like the heavier shadows it produces and fit pretty well with my styles

I got to work with an ABR800 'once' .... I found it awkward and bulky; I kept managing to turn the thing off; frankly I like to move around when shooting and to me the ABR restricted my movements a bit ....
not saying it's a bad device ... just was awkward to me - and again, it was the first and only time I've used one ...

It can make some pretty interesting light, but I do agree with the bulk. It is suited well to a setup where the camera is on a tripod and you don't plan to move around much.

i have an ABR800 but i RARELY use it mounted to the camera - i do really like it on it's own stand with the diffusion covers on it as backlighting or an overhead light - i find it's pretty versatile and easy to work with as long as i completely and totally avoid using it for it's specifically intended purpose :)

I have also rarely used it on the camera. The one time I did, I didn't much like the result. I can see using it for fill, but I don't care for the look personally.

It was a 5 light setup
1 Beauty dish to the front
2 lights to either side & slightly behind - flagged so they wouldn't spill directly into the camera
1 above and slightly behind - Softbox
1 on the background
