It does search by name. Both nickname and real name. You just have to enter enough of it accurately for it to find that person.

1 month ago · Permalink A model who is also a member here posted some photos I took of her and gave me credit as photographer...unfortunately some of those photos she posted are not very good, and I don't want them to show up in MY portfolio, which they do...apparently because I have photo credit...How do I get them out of my portfolio? I see no way to delete anything.
Gary_Holt 1 month ago I forgot to mention I did delete them..but apparently they were deleted on BOTH our profile pages...I just wanted to delete on MINE.

the images are global. to "hide" it from your port, add it to your Hidden collection using the Organize tool on your portfolio page.

1 month ago · Permalink Is there a way to use simple HTML in our profile page for things like bold text or text color? I just tried using the normal code for bold and it didn't work but thought there might be some site specific code that I could use.

Related to the deletion of images by the copyright holder (any photographer), if the site is maintaining images after the copyright owner deletes them, what from the terms and conditions covers Green Martini’s rights to the photos over and above that of the copyright owner?

No. We are currently working on a new project that is taking most of our time. Or hope is to get back onto GM in a few weeks and tidy up as well as add a few new features we have mostly finished.

Why do images remain on the site even after being deleted. For example, images still remain in the “critique” queue even after being deleted. Also, the group counters in the organize photos area retain the counts of images that are “in use” by others (my guess).

Did the model upload the picture? Did he/she credit you or did you click the request credit button?
Sabrina 1 month ago I'm new to the site & also don't understand how to approve a credit that another member gives you on a photo. On the photos I've uploaded, when I credit another member it says the credit is pending the member's approval. I went to the member's site & tried to click on the credit the member had given me for some photos they uploaded, and can't figure out how to "approve" being credited. What if both members want to have the same photo on each of their sites? How do you do that? I uploaded 2 of the same photos they uploaded, because instructions about what to do are not clear. Both the photos they had uploaded were POTD, and I'd love to get credit for that award on my site, too. If there is a place where all these "rules" and instructions are, I haven't found it yet. Please point me in the right direction.

2 months ago · Permalink I receive e-mails notifying me of new contests, new discussion group comments, and new pic comments. However, I am no longer receiving any notice regarding replies to private conversations/discussions. I have not changed any settings that I can recall; so I'm hoping that I can once again be informed when these occur to avoid any unnecessary delays.
RickRitz 2 months ago It's doing it again! More correctly, it's not doing it again. I had 2 private discussion replies today and no notice in my e-mail. (and yes I checked "spam" - notta).

How about a way to completely and permanently purge archived messages - seems like over time it would be nice to empty the trash once in a while?

3 months ago · Permalink I have tried to delete comments so that I could modify them but when I refresh the screen I see the original comment is still there. Why have the commands above each comment that indicate you can delete it if you cannot actually delete it?

Hmm, I can't reproduce this. I was able to impersonate you and delete the file just fine. I will have to get @chilly involved.
Jenny 2 months ago I guess the problem was not in deleting the file, but deleting the comment to the image. Just try to delete your own post in this thread and refresh the page. (I tried to do so, the comment is still here)

Excellent suggestions! I also want to finish a "merge" command so an existing photo can be replaced with merged with the old one. I will add these to the list and see what we can do. Great suggestions.

the envelope at the top left of the screen. or you can click "start private discussion" from my portfolio page, or you can click on "start private discussion" if you happen to click on the avatar for any user.

The preferred name is correct, but is there any way to get rid of cabernet? It shows up along with my # as though that is what I'm calling myself, I would rather it say Faces by Denise or just Denise.

On your portfolio you can change the name that is shown. go to Start - > Your Portfolio -> Edit Proflle

after you upload an image you have the option of making it your avatar. your avatar must be your own image.
