Biography
Jed started shooting in 1997 under the immensely talented Jim Powell and earned his stripes shooting Seniors, Weddings, Models, Events and Family Pictures. Unfortunately when Jim fell sick in 2000 Jed was forced to start his own company and start from scratch. This subsequently forced Jim to tell people that, “I have never heard of, met or otherwise known Jed Speer in any capacity…ever” in his official press release following the landmark case of “Photographers v. Guys Who Happen To Have Cameras And Thus Call Themselves Photographers”. Jed was embarrassed by his mentor’s disowning him and went underground with Jedediah Speer Photography in early 2000. Jed has continued to grow in skill and girth since coming out of “hibernation” in the spring of 2001. Clients consistently tell Jed that they are amazed at his dexterity, considering his massive size and seeming lack of motor coordination. Oft compared to a grizzly bear, Jed seems to surprise people with his shooting “skill” and clumsy mashing of keys in Photoshop 3.0 to produce fantastical images. Jed claims to be a “Pro Photographer who has been killing the competition for about 10 years.” Nothing could be further from the truth.Jed has never actually killed anyone…
